    They released their first single, “Tom Verlaine” in July to much critical acclaim. It was made NME single of the week when such things meant anything. Somehow, despite going on to release a mini-album and two full LPs chock full of songs of often phenomenal quality, they never managed to capitalise on this early commercial promise.
